Adrian Lawlor
Untitled c.1938
oil on paper mounted on board

Our enjoyment of this important Modernist work is not helped by the poor condition of its frame.  Lawlor produced his own frames and was one of the first artists of the early modern period to adopt the plain white frame as a device for enhancing his images.  This frame is an integral part of the way the artist intended this image to be viewed and it is important that it be restored.

The mitres on the frame of this painting have failed,  leaving them extremely unsightly. A small outlay is needed to make this modernist work pristine.
