Nicholas Chevalier
Parker River Waterfall 1862-87
oil on canvas
One of our most important Colonial paintings which is still housed in its original frame. This work is severely compromised by the appearance given to it by the poor quality of the overpainting of the frame. Careful restoration of the frame will immeasurably enhance the overall appearance of this work, highlighting the delicate colouring of foliage and water.
