Mr & Mrs Wanliss 19th Century
oil on canvas

These portraits once graced the residence of Thomas Drummond Wanliss, a prominent journalist in late 19th century Ballarat.  They are very good examples of upper middle class portraiture of the mid-Victorian period which were probably commissioned as memento portraits of Wanliss’ parents.
